NCCC Annual Meeting for Members and Supporters

Every year the NCCC holds an event that brings together all of its members, supporters, partner organizations and alums. Though the Annual Members & Supporters Meetings have been virtual in recent years past, in 2023 we joined together in person again at an interesting and beautiful site called The Plant in Pittsboro, NC. The Plant is an inviting place to gather and has grounds and facilities for touring and shopping. This year’s annual meeting shared about: the latest science of soil health and how it effects climate change; what the NC Composting Council is doing to teach and expand the manufacture and use of compost in agriculture; and how we’re promoting composting industrially, in communities, and at home.

After the meeting attendees enjoyed taking a tour of The Plant, shopping at the Farmers’ Market, and delicious food and spirits.

10th Anniversary of Sustainable Spirits

Sustainable Spirits is a casual monthly gathering for the sustainability communityorganized by the North Carolina Composting Council since June of 2013. It has been rotating around the [expanded] Triangle and statewide through different establishments creating a space for people to gather, meet each other, and engage in fun and meaningful conversations in venues that support our environmental commitment.

In June 2023, after our Annual Meeting, we celebrated with a rocking 10th Anniversary Party for Sustainable Spirits. Thank you to Maxie B’s for providing a beautiful cake, and to our generous sponsors for this event, Southern Energy Management.
