DESCRIPTION:NC Department of Environmental Quality and the Natural Resources Defense Council are partnering to host a webinar on food waste reduction. \nThe Natural Resources Defense Council recently launched the “Save The Food” campaign in partnership with the Ad Council to raise awareness about food waste across the U.S. \n“Save The Food” is the first-ever national public service campaign to combat food waste from its largest source – consumers\, who collectively waste more food than grocery stores\, restaurants or farms. The initiative hopes to encourage consumers to reduce the amount of food they trash in their homes\, thereby saving the water\, energy and money that are lost along with it. \nOn average\, the Ad Council garners about $90 million in donated media for a 3-year campaign. The cost to NRDC for this will be $3.2 million over three years\, making it roughly a 30x return on investment.
