Annual Meeting for Members and Friends
Every year the NCCC holds an event that brings together all of its members, supporters, partner organizations and alums. During the event, the NCCC shares its successes from the past year, and introduces new and returning board members. For the 2023 Annual Meeting, we shared about the latest science of soil health and how it effects climate change, what the NC Composting Council is doing to teach and expand the manufacture and use of compost in agriculture, and how we’re promoting composting industrially, in communities, and at home. In 2023, after our annual meeting, we also celebrated the 10th anniversary of our Sustainable Spirits gatherings!

2023 @ The Plant in Pittsboro, NC: June 15, 2023 at 2pm

Gratitude and farewell to Gary G. and Gary B. as they retired from the BOD; welcome to new BOD members Christine Wittmeier and Matt Collogan.

– Town of Cary partnership w Toward Zero Waste to create food scrap drop off – Henderson County and Coastal Carolina Composting Council- drop-off to facility; data, siting, funding how they did it, they can inspire you too.
New Members and cutting edge technology: DNA sequencing to create better compost, and collaboration with the USCC; new startup in Durham to sequester carbon and create sustainable building materials with Healthy Soils as its root.
