4:30-5:30pm CCL Workshop: Volunteer Engagement: How to Activate the Activists
With the new administration, more and more people are becoming socially active than ever before. Many organizations have seen a strong increase in the number of folks who want to volunteer their time and talent to a variety of different causes. How can the energy of these new volunteers be harnessed? How do you structure your organization to take advantage of these volunteers, especially when your staff are only volunteers themselves? How do you keep new volunteers engaged? And how can you become a better volunteer? Come join Donald Addu, the Southeast Regional Director for the Citizens Climate Lobby, for an hour of discussion on these topics and stay for the Sustainable Spirits networking event immediately following the workshop.
Sustainable Spirits is a casual monthly gathering for the sustainability community organized by the North Carolina Composting Council and other organizations. Starting on the Summer of 2013, we have rotated around the [expanded] Triangle and the coast through different establishments creating a space for people to gather, meet each other, and engage in fun and meaningful conversations. It’s free, unstructured, and open to everyone interested in anything from renewable energy and civic engagement to green building, organic farming, and beyond!
