NCCC Presents Sustainable Spirits

Sustainable Spirits is a casual monthly gathering for the sustainability community organized by the North Carolina Composting Council.

Sustainable Spirits events, sponsored by the NC Composting Council, started in June 2013 rotating around the Triangle and statewide at great local venues, creating a space for people to gather and engage in fun and meaningful conversations. That spirit continues with events held most months, usually the 3rd Thursday of the month, hosted at venues that share the NCCC environmental commitment to composting and waste reduction. These events are co-sponsored by local businesses and non-profits doing this work in our communities everyday.

Sustainable Spirits are unstructured and open to everyone interested in sustainability issues such as composting, environmental policy, environmental justice, climate resilience, renewable energy, healthy soils, regenerative practices, civic engagement, circular economy… and beyond!

Each Sustainable Spirits event is sponsored by a local company or organization that cares about the soils and natural life of North Carolina.  The hallmark of the sponsorship program is exposure to your target audience.  Each Sustainable Spirits gathering is announced by email to a list of nearly 1000 interested people, it is publicized on our website and is announced through social media.  The sponsor’s name and logo is posted on all publicity emails and the web page and will be added to our permanent list of Sustainable Spirits sponsors on our web page. On the evening of the event, the sponsor may set up a banner or small table (depending on space) and hand out informational materials.  The sponsor’s representative is given time for a short presentation about the business, their core values, and goals.  Staff and friends of the sponsor are invited to take part in the evening – it’s their party too!

  • Non-profit organizations may sponsor as a nonprofit partner- at no cost.

All donations help support the work of the NC Composting Council in educating people about composting and promoting the use of compost to improve and preserve NC soils.
